When I was in fifth grade, I had the chance to talk to a student nurse. I was amazed at her spotless white uniform, her knowledge of the sciences, and the stories of the people she helped. I knew that I wanted to be someone who could learn the best science and skills to help people recover from illness and to promote wellness.
If you ask any nurse, they will most likely relay a similar story containing a powerful moment when they first knew that they wanted to be a nurse. Many call this portion of the story their calling.
Our nurses demonstrate this calling in various roles, from research and education to advanced practice and leadership. This is what being a Kettering Health Network nurse is all about: our calling and our passion to care deeply for our patients.
I am overwhelmed by the tremendous work and lifesaving skill that is displayed with each shift. Kettering Health Network nurses are leaders in the science of healing and the spirit of their calling with a wonderful commitment to our patients. Join them in their exploration of the depths of the nursing profession and ultimately living out the call to care.
Be inspired. Be incredible. Be a Kettering Health Network nurse.
