Grandview Medical Center to build out two unused floors

March 10, 2015

Grandview Medical Center is building out two unused floors that were incorporated into a wing that was added to the hospital in 2013. The build-out will add nearly 50 private patient rooms.

Each floor will include 24 private patient rooms dedicated to medical and surgical patients, increasing Grandview’s number of licensed beds from 296 to 344. When the $40 million, five-story, 70,000-square-foot addition was built two years ago, the two floors were shelled in anticipation of adding the patient rooms. Grandview expanded its facility to consolidate and improve surgical services, and inpatient and outpatient flow, and make it easier for patients and visitors to access services.

“The addition of the rooms is due to an increase in patient volume combined with a desire to provide more private rooms for our patients,” says Russ Wetherell, administrator of Grandview Medical Center.

The $4.4 million, 20,000-square-foot build-out project is expected to be completed by fall 2015. Danis Building Construction has been awarded the project.
