Kettering Health Network leaders receive Association for Healthcare Foodservice award

August 18, 2017

Kettering Health Network CEO Fred Manchur and Cheryl Shimmin, network director of Culinary and Nutrition Care, have received the Association for Healthcare Foodservice’s (AHF’s) Partnership In Leadership award.

The AHF is composed of food and nutrition professionals from healthcare facilities that manage their own foodservice operations.

The Partnership In Leadership award recognizes operator member facilities that demonstrate a strong commitment to self-operation and leaders that support the facility’s foodservice director or foodservice administrative director.

“We are extremely honored to receive this recognition,” says Fred Manchur. “Nutrition is at the core of health care. Our vision is to provide an exceptional dining experience for hospital patients and visitors. That dining experience includes a variety of delicious meals prepared by nationally trained chefs. Patients can choose what and when they want to eat. Cheryl Shimmin and her team have done a fantastic job making sure patients, visitors, and employees experience fine dining in a healing environment.”

Manchur and Shimmin were honored this week at the AHF 2017 Annual Conference in National Harbor, Md. in the Washington, D.C. metro area. The annual conference convenes the entire self-operated healthcare foodservice industry, bringing together the brightest minds in healthcare hospitality for lively keynotes, vital education, networking opportunities, and a culinary competition.
