Fort Hamilton Hospital’s Wound Care Center® receives Center of Excellence award

March 06, 2015

Healogics, Inc. has presented Fort Hamilton Hospital’s Wound Care Center® with the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D., Center of Excellence award. Healogics is the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

The award is named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the former Chief Medical Officer for Healogics.

The Wound Care Center received the award because it met the Center of Distinction quality standards for Healogics. The Center has achieved patient satisfaction rates higher than 92 percent and a healing rate of at least 91 percent in less than 30 median days, among other quality standards for a minimum of two consecutive years. Out of 155 eligible Centers, only 88 were honored with this award.

The Wound Care Center specializes in the treatment of chronic or difficult-to-heal wounds, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure therapies, and skin substitutes. A member of the Healogics™ network, the Wound Care Center employs a rigorous scientific approach to explore, test, find and develop the clinically proven methods and technologies which reintroduce the body's innate ability to heal.

“We are honored to receive this recognition,” says Mark Smith, president of Fort Hamilton Hospital. “Our wound care physicians and staff do a superb job of providing exceptional care to people with serious wounds. They truly make a difference in the lives of our patients.”
