Jon Larrabee was sworn in as president of the Miami Valley Military Affairs Association (MVMAA) at its annual dinner November 29.
Larrabee is vice president of physician recruitment at Kettering Health Network, and is a past president of the Kettering Moraine Oakwood (KMO) Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
“I am honored to serve as president of the MVMAA,” says Larrabee. “For more than 30 years I’ve had a passion for harnessing the collective resources of civic and business communities to better support the missions of the regional military institutions. While serving on the KMO Board, I have seen this same passion for supporting our local military installations. I have also witnessed the leadership of Kettering Health Network’s strong commitment to serving and strengthening its relationship with the military and I want to thank them for supporting my involvement in the MVMAA.
“I am looking forward to working with the MVMAA’s Board of Trustees and regional business and civic leaders to continue our strong collaboration with the military community, assisting them with meeting the needs of military personnel and their families.”
The MVMAA was formed in 1980 through the combined efforts of several local Chambers of Commerce. Recognizing the tremendous economic impact Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Springfield Air National Guard Base, and other area military units have on the Greater Dayton/Miami Valley area, local community leaders wanted to provide a support organization that would foster military-community understanding and cooperation.
