Grandview Expands for Dayton's Growing Need
Leaders from the City of Dayton, the Dayton NAACP, and Omega Baptist Church participated in the ER Expansion groundbreaking in February.

Over the last five years, Kettering Health Network has worked to expand its services at Grandview Medical Center to ensure that members of the Dayton community have access to quality health care.

While Grandview has provided quality, whole-person care to Dayton and the surrounding communities for over 90 years, the hospital began a series of renovations with the addition of the $40 million West Wing in 2013.

Adorned with a new main entrance, the West Wing renovations provide patients access to same-day surgery, new pre- and post-operative units, more private patient rooms with two additional floors, and a kitchen that accommodates room service. The addition of the Grand Central Café gave patients and their families a space to dine and visit.

In February, Grandview started construction to double the size of its Emergency Department and create a new Cath lab and Electrophysiology Lab (heart care) Wing .

The Emergency Department will now be able to see 25,000 more patients annually due to the addition of a new three-bed patient triage area, a consultation room, nine advanced care patient bays, two trauma patient procedure rooms, and a CT scan suite. Grandview is already certified as a Level III trauma center by the American College of Surgeons, so these additions will allow the hospital staff to demonstrate their dedication to providing optimal care to even more patients.

With the new additions, Grandview will house three total Cath labs. Coupled with the new electrophysiology services, Grandview seeks to address the community need for cardiac services. Both new labs are set to open September 17.

Grandview supports the Dayton community by offering over 20 specialties with advanced technologies and accepting most major insurance plans. Their capacity to deliver outstanding care and safety to patients will only increase as these plans are completed in fall 2018.
