Rick leads Kettering Medical Center Foundation as President. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is a graduate of the University of Dayton, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Finance. Rick came to the Foundation after several years at John Hopkins All Children's Foundation in St. Petersburg, FL, where he served as a Senior Gift Officer and as Assistant Director of Planned Giving.
Rick received his Master's in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy in Indianapolis. He is a member of American Fundraising Professionals, the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy and the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners. His Community Service has included several leadership positions, such as founder and president of the Jane H. Thie Memorial Fund, a non-profit corporation dedicated to raising funds to advance the research efforts to bring a cure to those suffering from pancreatic cancer. While living in Florida, Rick was a member of the Sarasota Seventh-Day Adventist Church where he served as Leadership Team Member and Elder.
Rick's interests include sailing, tennis, golf, fishing, the culinary arts, equine sports and Presidential History. He and his wife, Ellie, are proud residents of Beavercreek, Ohio.
DIRECTOR OF PHILANTHROPY
Erin works closely with leadership, board members, and volunteers to maximize major gift fundraising in support of Kettering Medical Center's most pressing priorities. She brings over 10 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations, and extensive experience in major gift fundraising. Erin has specific skills directing successful campaigns, working with clients to enhance their major gift programs, and conducting feasibility and planning studies. In addition to her work as a fundraising consultant, Erin worked in university and secondary education development programs, and served for three years in the Peace Corps. Originally from Atlanta, GA, where her parents still live, Erin has two sisters. She makes her home in Dayton with her husband, Doug, and her dog, Jake.
DIRECTOR OF ANNUAL GIVING AND SPECIAL EVENTS
Amber bridges the Foundation with the greater Dayton community through a series of special events including the Walk for Women's Wellness, Ribbon of Hope, Heart to Heart and others. Through connections with corporate donors and the broader Dayton region, she relates the Foundation to individuals, volunteers and corporate partners to make an impact. She brings over 12 years of fundraising experience including strategy development, corporate and major gifts, building and running annual fund campaigns and special events within the social service, arts and healthcare industries.
Amber was born and raised in Dayton and is thrilled to give back to the region through her service at the Foundation. Amber lives in Kettering with her husband, Chris, and is often seen cheering for her alma mater at the University of Dayton Flyers basketball games.
DATA SERVICES MANAGER
Rita manages the fundraising database and is responsible for its effective operation and integrity. She has devoted over 25 years of service to Kettering Medical Center. During her time with the Foundation, her diverse
roles have allowed her to gain knowledge of all areas of development necessary to bring excellence to her position in serving staff and donors. Rita and her husband have a son and daughter and
reside in Beavercreek.
Ellen works with the special events that the Foundation holds. The Walk for Women's Wellness, Ribbon of Hope, Heart to Heart and the Golf Classic. Ellen comes to us with 12 plus years of experience in fundraising events and non-profit work. She enjoys the planning aspect of the events along with the data management. Ellen enjoys reading, walking and helping her kids with their 4-H projects that include livestock and camping. Ellen resides in Germantown with her husband Rob, and her two kids Lucas and Hayley.
Daisy comes to the Foundation from the Kettering Health Network where she assisted the Executive VP of Finance and the CEO where she managed calendars and coordinated business travel, meetings and events.
Born and raised in Kansas, Daisy lives in Dayton with her husband Steve where they're busy raising their two sons. Daisy is a graduate of Union College in Lincoln, NE, where she majored in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and a minor in Religion. She has been with Kettering since 2015 in various roles including Community Outreach and as Executive Assistant in the Corporate Office. She also has experience as an Events Coordinator while working at the Rocky Mountain Adventist Healthcare Foundation in Colorado.
In her role as Executive Assistant, Daisy will also provide support for the Foundation's Board of Directors.
Denise is Admin Assistant, reporting to the Data Services Manager. She has a C.P.A. and earned professional-level certification for Raiser's Edge, our database software. Denise enjoys fountain pens and ink, reading, and the seven grandchildren with which she's been blessed in the past six years - not necessarily in that order. She and her husband also foster kittens for the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.
Sarah works to support the Foundation's Annual Giving Campaign. She comes to the Foundation with over seven years of non-profit experience in the arts and healthcare sectors encompassing a large range of responsibilities including database management, grant-writing, corporate sponsorship solicitation, and prospect research. She enjoys the creative side of fundraising and philanthropy. Born and raised in Wisconsin, Sarah has since called six states and three countries home. She enjoys travel, reading, photography, and cheese. She lives in Tipp City with her husband, Francis, and their children, Logan and Sebastian.
INDIVIDUAL GIVING OFFICER
Matt is a part of the Project Gratitude team, serving as a liaison for physicians, nurses, clinical partners, patients, and donors. He was raised in Kettering, OH, where his parents still reside. Matt graduated from Xavier University and brings over 20+ years of sales/sales management experience with his last eight years in the medical sales industry. His passion for fundraising was quickly developed by voluntarily chairing the St. Susanna Boosters Fundraiser in Mason, OH. He lives in West Chester with his wife Allison, and their three children Charlie, Patrick, and Liam.
Kristy is the Development Coordinator at the Foundation that oversees Prospect Management and Donor Stewardship. She brings with her over ten years of experience in Office Administration and Management, as well as a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Kristy was born and raised in Michigan, and resides in Fairborn with her husband, daughter and son. She enjoys reading and walking in her spare time.
Holly is the Office Assistant at the Foundation. She provides administrative support to the Directors and oversees the office's daily operations. Holly has been a part of the Kettering Health Network for eight years, previously serving the Senior Division, where she gained experience in gift fundraising. She has an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Community-Based Corrections. Holly resides in Kettering with her family and her two dogs. She enjoys photography, crafting and attending her children's sporting events.
