Support Groups & Education

The Kettering Health Network provides many different support groups and services - from cancer support to caring for an aging parent. Our support groups provide comfort, education, and resources to patients and their families. Learning about your cancer can be overwhelming and you may have many questions-we are here to help and talk about it with your care team and with the people close to you.

This free class is for anyone beginning cancer treatment and includes an overview of chemotherapy, biotherapy/immunotherapy, and targeted therapy, common side effects, and resources. Friends and family members are welcome.

Look Good Feel Better is a free class to help women manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. Beauty professionals trained and certified by the Look Good Feel Better Foundation and the Professioal Beauty Association. Registration is required lookgoodfeelbetter.org/programs/program-finder . Navigating the Breast Cancer Journey class

2nd & 4th Wednesdays, 1-3PM, Kettering Cancer Center – 1st floor

This free class is for anyone newly diagnosed with breast cancer and includes an overview of breast cancer disease processes, treatment options, and resources such as certified oncology nurses, lymphedema therapist, wellness expert, breast cancer survivors, support groups, and more. CLIMB:  Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery

Wednesdays, January 15 - February 26, 2020, 5:30-7PM

Kettering Cancer Center – 1st floor classroom

A 6 week program for children ages 5 – 12 whose family member has cancer.  Using conversation and creative projects, our trained professionals will present this program developed by The Children’s Treehouse Foundation.  Focus will be on the child’s strengths and the program will increase his/her ability to cope with stress associated with the illness.
