Support Groups & Education

The Kettering Health Network provides many different support groups and services - from cancer support to caring for an aging parent. Our support groups provide comfort, education, and resources to patients and their families. Learning about your cancer can be overwhelming and you may have many questions-we are here to help and talk about it with your care team and with the people close to you.

This free class is for anyone newly diagnosed with breast cancer and includes an overview of breast cancer disease processes, treatment options, and resources such as certified oncology nurses, lymphedema therapist, wellness expert, breast cancer survivors, support groups, and more. Nutrition Class

Second Mondays, 1–2 p.m. Kettering Cancer Center, First floor classroom

This free class is for anyone who has questions or wants to learn more about the role of nutrition during your cancer journey.

Class is led by Allison Dunanway, RDN, CLT, from Maple Tree Cancer Alliance. Advanced registration is not required.


Description:

This is a free support group for brain tumor patients, not limited to cancer. Family members, friends, and caregivers are welcome. Offered on 2nd Mondays from 7-8:30PM at Kettering Medical Center Nelson 4 on ground floor. Look Good Feel Better is a free class to help women manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. The program includes lessons on skin and nail care, cosmetics, wigs and turbans, accessories and styling, helping people with cancer to find some normalcy in a life that is by no means normal. beauty professionals trained and certified by the Look Good Feel Better Foundation and the Professional Beauty Association.
