Colon Cancer Support & Education

Our staff takes the mystery out of your colon cancer with expert support & education.

Colon cancer can get confusing. There are tons of resources out there for the newly diagnosed, those undergoing treatment and those in recovery - but information, especially on the internet, can seem contradictory and be hard to navigate.

Our job at the Kettering Health Network is to treat your colorectal cancer, but our work is far from done there. It's important to us that you understand your treatment, and that you know there are others who understand how you feel. The right people, programs and resources to keep you in-touch and in-the-know are all right here in Dayton.

Our cancer support groups meet at Greene Memorial Hospital, Fort Hamilton Hospital and Kettering Medical Center. These sessions are open to patients, families, friends and anyone else affected by cancer. This is an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded families from your own neighborhood facing diseases, including colon cancer.

Newly diagnosed patients in particular will find value in our cancer class, in which our staff members will explain what cancer really is, how we treat it, and the steps you can take to manage your symptoms. You will have the chance to connect with oncology nurses, dietitians and social workers who can serve as powerful advisors to you.

If a class or support group doesn't appeal to you as much, we offer a variety of programs for colon cancer patients and their families that can be uplifting without overwhelming. Our "Yoga for Cancer Patients & Survivors" is one of our most popular and frequent sessions, and can be invigorating both socially and physically for those affected by any cancer. Be sure to check out our calendar frequently to register, or to learn more about our many events throughout greater Dayton.

These programs simply would not be possible without the generous support of survivors in our area. If you are a colon cancer survivor living in Southwest Ohio, please contact us to find out how a few hours of your involvement could change a life.

Ready to join in? Call Kettering Cancer Care at (855) 500-CURE with any of your questions about these programs, or if you are ready to register.
