Dr. Pilati served as a senior Airman for the Medical Service Corps from 1982-1985 and received medals for Air Force Achievement and Good Conduct . From 1991-1996, Dr. Pilati served in the United States Navy as the department head of diving medicine and provided medical care in a level III ER .
