Bladder Confidence

Dance Program

Our therapists in the Dance Medicine Program are specialized and trained in dance specific equipment for rehabilitation and performance enhancement of the dancer. Kettering Sports Medicine Center works with dancers and gymnasts of all ages, as well as the Dayton Ballet, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, and Kids Are TOPS gymnastics.

We offer physical therapy with dance specific exercises using Pilates, the Pilates reformer, and Gyrotonic Expansion. Dancers and gymnasts can continue working with us after completing physical therapy in one of our fitness programs, including combining our Sports Acceleration program with Pilates. Our programs are tailored to meet your individual needs. Call (937) 395-3910 or click here for more information.

Dartfish

Dartfish is state of the art motion analysis software that allows us to examine your biomechanics to prevent injury and increase performance. Over 90% of Olympic medal winners have trained with Dartfish.

Dartfish provides instant visual feedback which enhances athletes' understanding of motion. Movement can be broken down to 90 frames per second. Using numerous drawing and measuring tools to point out key positions, we can make the invisible visible. We can also share information with you via print-outs, CDs, e-mail, or YouTube.

Gait analysis, throwing motion, and golf swings are just a few of the many motions we can help you break down and analyze. To schedule an appointment or learn more call (937) 395-3905.

Exercise Physiology

Our exercise physiologists and certified strength and conditioning specialists can help you reach your fitness goals with a program designed just for you. We can assess your current level of physical fitness, help you set goals, develop an effective exercise program, and monitor your progress. Your muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, body composition, and blood pressure will all be measured.

Call 395-3905 for more information.

Sports Nutrition

Our sports nutritionist, Dr. Cindy Cassell, can help you develop skills related to nutrition choices, physical activity, stress management, and behavior modification. All nutrition plans are individualized. You will learn how much protein, carbohydrate, and fat is in your current diet; as well as any nutrients that your diet may be deficient in such as zinc, calcium, or iron.

Athletes will receive information on caloric intake directed towards performance enhancement. You will also be guided on what to eat and drink before, during, and after events and training sessions.

Food coaching which includes analysis of your favorite restaurants with attention to convenience, budget, nutritional content, and personal likes and dislikes is also available. Our staff can provide follow-up nutritional e-mails to provide ongoing expert advice.

We can also provide in-services and lectures on nutrition and wellness to your team or professional group. Call (937) 395-3924 or click here for more information.
