Pelvic Control Therapy
Our licensed physical therapists have advanced training in the evaluation and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions. We perform an evaluation and a personalized treatment program to meet your
functional goals. At both of the pelvic control locations, we offer a private and relaxed atmosphere where we can work together to restore your quality of life. If you are experiencing
incontinence, pelvic pain or any of the conditions listed below, know you are not alone. Help is available from one of our pelvic control therapists.
- Urinary and fecal incontinence
- Urgency and frequency with urination
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Chronic constipation
- Difficulty emptying bladder and/or bowel
- Painful intercourse
- Pelvic pain syndromes
- Post-operative rehabilitation
In addition, we also offer therapy services for women in their pre-natal or post-partum period with the following conditions:
- Incontinence
- Pelvic/SI/back pain
- Abdominal weakness or diastasis recti
- Pain from a C-section, episiotomy, or perineal tear
Treatment sessions are one hour in length and most patients are seen 1-2 times a week. A treatment session may include some or all of the following:
- Pelvic muscle retraining with biofeedback
- Exercises to strengthen pelvic floor and core muscles
- Education on diet, fluid intake and bladder irritants
- Internal and external myofascial trigger point release
- Scar mobilization
- Sacroiliac joint/lumbar spine mobilization
- Dilator therapy
- Bladder and bowel retraining
- Relaxation techniques
