A complete exam determines all the likely sources for pain. Identifying the source of pain allows us to determine the most effective treatment option.

This exam involves reviewing the spine, nervous system, arms, legs, and joints. The results of these tests may point to whether the pain began in the spinal cord or is controlled in a nerve that acts as a channel to a specific part of the body. If necessary, x-rays, blood work and additional tests help the doctor narrow down the possible source(s) of pain.
