Kettering Health Network offers a nurse residency program especially designed to support new graduate RNs as they transition into professional nursing practice. New
graduates learn standards of care, as well as receive hands on experience and training throughout the weeks of orientation. Nurse residents will attend instructor led
classes that address topics and issues that have been identified as important to success for new graduates. Case studies and simulation are used to promote critical
thinking and improve clinical judgment. Seasoned nurses and preceptors share experiences and provide individual assistance during the unit orientation.
To qualify for a residency, you must be a graduate of an accredited RN program and be a licensed nurse with less than 6 months experience in an acute care setting.
