Breast Cancer Support & Education

When you're facing Breast Cancer, treatment is just one part of your plan for success - support and education for your cancer go hand-in-hand. Access our full calendar of sessions, support groups, and events here: Support & Education Calendar

Nationwide initiatives to raise breast care awareness are working: The American Cancer Society posits that dramatically improved support since 1990 has saved more than 200,000 lives. But no one's job is done.

As long as breast cancer continues affecting our communities, we all have a responsibility to share our strength, compassion and knowledge. Being there to respond to your questions and concerns starts even before your diagnosis. It's an absolute priority of the Kettering Health Network's oncology experts to keep you informed and assured from our first contact with you.

We can't do it alone. Fortunately, our network of patients, survivors, family and friends bands together to make breast cancer support and education in greater Dayton a true team effort. We can offer the programs below thanks to the hundreds of brave men and women who choose to "pay it forward".

Navigating the Breast Cancer Journey is a class that's free for anyone diagnosed with breast cancer. This class is led by a Nurse Navigator and provides valuable information and support before, during and after treatment. Our Nurse Navigator is a powerful ally-helping women connect with additional resources, such as a social worker, dietitian, lymphedema therapist, and community resources. Breast cancer survivors are also on hand, to provide and support. Call Kettering Cancer Care at 855-500-CURE (2873) to register.

SOAR - strength, optimism, and recovery - is a monthly group for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, as well as survivors of breast cancer. Call Kettering Cancer Care at 855-500-CURE (2873) for more information.

Look Good... Feel Better is a free program that teaches people in active cancer treatment techniques to help them combat the appearance-related side effects of treatment. This program is offered jointly by the American Cancer Society; the Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association Foundation; and the National Cosmetology Association. Each woman will receive a kit for demonstration purposes during the class. The program is free. Please call the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345 to register and for more information.

Call Kettering Cancer Care at (855) 500-2873 for more information, or to register for any of our upcoming sessions.
